Position Summary
Provides quotes and takes incomingorders for corporate products from businesses and individuals
Primary Accountabilities (Essential duties:)
- Effectively and promptly handle all forms of correspondence (phone, e-mail, fax, and letter), representing the companyin a professional, courteous, and expeditious manner.This includes answering unsolicited inbound phone calls.
- Makesoutbound calls to promote and sell the company’s products.
- Interpret customer needs, quotes prices, delivery terms, and credit terms, and create sales orders from orders received
- Overcome business and technicalobjections of prospective customers
- Provides product samples on request to customers
- Support and enablenew customer and OEM sales growth efforts,such as new part creationand new account setup (Gatekeeping)
- Enters new customer name and contactinformation into computerdatabase
- Continually improve in productand market knowledge
- Initiates the customer service requestwhen required
- Processes cancellation and changeorders when required
- Monitors status on all open orders.Researches late orders
- Maintains inventory for blanketorder customers
- Contacts vendors and outsidesales processing for pricing
- Workswith outside sales and NSM to solicitnew opportunities as well as developing existingcustomers.
- Workswith outside sales representative to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Worksclosely with the shopsupervisors to prioritize work and schedulelate or blanket stockorder runs
- Develop ability to quoteitems not in internal pricingsystem
- Assures timely quote followup
- Assumes other responsibilities and performs other tasks as determined necessary by the National Sales Manager
- Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance as fundamental functionof the role.
