Sphere Surgery Center is a brand new multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center opening this fall in Irving. We're hiring experienced OR circulators now — before the first case — so the nurses who join us help build the preference cards, set the par levels, run the mock cases, and decide how this OR actually runs.

Duties

  • Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all sterile equipment and supplies are ready for scheduled procedures, adhering strictly to aseptic technique standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments prior to surgery, including vital signs, medical history review, and physiological evaluations.
  • Assist in the administration of anesthesia and monitor patient vital signs throughout procedures, responding promptly to any changes or complications.
  • Support surgeons during procedures by providing instrument passing, suturing, and managing sterile fields with precision and efficiency.
  • Circulate for spine, ortho, and pain management case. Anticipate the surgeons needs before they ask
  • Manage implants, specimens, tourniquets, and equipment
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as HST Pathways or eClinicalWorks (eCW), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in infection control protocols and quality improvement initiatives to uphold the highest standards of patient safety and care excellence.
  • Help us build preference cards, validate equipment and get survey-ready

Skills

  • Proven experience working in an operating room environment with strong OR experience; familiarity with ambulatory surgery center workflows is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in aseptic technique, suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and airway management techniques.
  • Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and patient record management.
  • Ability to perform detailed patient assessments and recognize critical changes requiring immediate intervention.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and infection control practices.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.

What You Need

- Active Texas RN license (or compact privilege)

- **2 years circulating in the OR**

- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA)

- Strong sterile technique, counts, positioning, and electrosurgical safety

- Comfort working in a facility without a rapid response team down the hall

- The willingness to speak up in the room, no matter who's holding the scalpel

Pay: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour
