This is a "player-coach" role designed for a builder who is ready to scale into a strategic leader.In the immediate term, you will get your hands dirty building Sphere’s operational backbone—designing workflows, implementing automation, and personally removing blockers. As the company grows, you will transition into a leadership role, driving cross-functional execution and designing scalable systems that improve clarity, speed, and accountability across every team.You will serve as the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, Compliance, Sales, Finance, and Operations. If you thrive in ambiguity, love building systems from scratch, and are capable of operating at 10,000 feet (strategy) and 10 feet (execution), this is one of the highest-leverage roles at Sphere.Key Responsibilities - Strategic Program & Execution LeadershipTranslate company-wide goals into structured, trackable, and resourced execution plans.Own the execution of complex cross-functional programs (e.g., corridor launches, compliance readiness, internal tool rollouts, operational redesigns).Identify cross-team dependencies early, surface blockers quickly, and resolve ambiguity with clear decisions.Build and maintain the portfolio of programs to provide leadership with real-time visibility for decision-making.Key Responsibilities - Operational Systems & AutomationArchitect scalable internal systems using low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Make, Zapier) or guide engineering resources for custom builds.Establish firm standards for operational tooling, workflows, and process architecture to prevent fragmentation.Own the lifecycle of internal processes, including documentation, version control, rollout, and measurement.Partner with the Business Operations Analyst to design systems that drastically reduce manual work across the company.Key Responsibilities - Strategy & Operations Manager Leadership & Cross-Functional AlignmentNavigate a matrixed environment where your team members are embedded within functional units (Sales, Product, Compliance) but report centrally to you for operational standards and career growth.Ensure every embedded function maintains clear priorities, strong cross-functional alignment, documented processes, and predictable execution cadences.Mentor your team to identify risks and blockers within their specific verticals before they impact the wider organization.Key Responsibilities - Metrics, Reporting & GovernanceOwn Sphere’s operating rhythm, driving consistency in weekly ops reviews, monthly metrics reviews, OKRs, and cross-functional planning.Create and maintain operational dashboards to ensure functional leaders have real-time visibility into performance and bottlenecks.Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews with structured insights and actionable recommendations.Partner with Engineering and Data to unify operational data sources into a single source of truth.Key Responsibilities - Organizational EffectivenessLead change management efforts across departments for new systems, tools, or processes.Identify inefficiencies and redesign processes to improve speed, quality, and reliability.Promote a culture of accountability, clarity, and operational excellence.Act as a strategic advisor to the VP of Operations on organizational design and long-term operational strategy.Qualifications6 years in operations, program management, strategy, or business operations.Experience scaling operations in a high-complexity environment (Fintech, Crypto, Banking, or Tech).Deep understanding of the tension between "Moving Fast" and "Regulatory Compliance."Demonstrated ability to drive complex cross-functional programs to completion.Strong systems thinker with the ability to break complexity into structure.Proficient with automation tools (Zapier, Make, ClickUp, Notion, Airtable, or similar) with a willingness to build hands-on when needed.Exceptional written and verbal communication; you bring clarity where others see noise.High ownership, resourcefulness, and a bias for action.Comfortable holding others accountable across all levels of the organization.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
