Role

As a Branch Manager, you are responsible for driving branch production through leading by example and effectively relaying tactics and best practices to the branch team. You will ensure the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, and service excellence. You will monitor growth goals and targets and maintain a high quality of service by ensuring teammates are maximizing opportunities to educate members on Spero Financial products and services. You are responsible for providing directives, developing, motivating, and coaching branch staff on an ongoing basis.

The ideal Branch Manager should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, keen attention to detail, adaptability, and professionalism. Those skills ensure you will support the mission, vision, and values of Spero Financial. You will proactively work with support departments and other member serving channels, such as TellerLink and Lending to ensure you are providing a frictionless member experience.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains a high quality of service for members and ensures employees are maximizing opportunities to sell products/services and meeting sales and service standards.
  • Conducts operational and sales/service training and coaching with all branch staff.
  • Monitors branch operations and supports branch teammates with all operational functions.
  • Ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions in the branch.
  • Administers monthly and in-moment coaching and performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel action.
  • Responds to member questions, concerns, or complaints in a courteous and timely manner and escalates as necessary.
  • Monitors operational and sales activities in the branch to ensure they are complying with Spero Financial policies and procedures and reports any discrepancies.
  • Facilitates On-the-Job training for team members.
  • Proactively builds relationships with members, community organizations, Select Employee Groups (SEGs), other financial institutions, and similar groups and business development opportunities.
  • Leads and coordinates sales efforts for the branch through outbound calling, onboarding, and referrals to ensure goals are met.
  • Approves and monitors branch time off requests.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Skills


Experience: Five years to Eight years of similar or related retail branch experience.

Education: A bachelor’s degree, or achievement of a specialized or formal certifications or licensing equivalent to a bachelor’s degree

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a high degree of confidentiality and discretion requiring diplomacy and tact and excellent communication skills

Other Skills: Maintain knowledge with training in BSA Compliance - every staff member is required to uphold the credit union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Customer Identification Program (CIP), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures. This includes required BSA reporting. Specific functions such as tellers and front-line staff within Spero Financial will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department and report such activity. In addition to any other assigned training courses, BSA, CIP, OFAC and AML related courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Departments. Required to maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements. Comply with all Spero policies and procedures to ensure compliance with such regulations.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
