Spencer Printing is a full-service printing company looking for a customer-focused team member with a strong graphic design and prepress background to join our fast paced, growing print shop. This is a pre-production oriented role. You will work directly with our customers to guide their projects from initial quote to final production, ensuring high-quality results. What You’ll Do
- Design & Prepress: Review customer-supplied files, perform file corrections, handle typography and layout design for brochures/flyers, and prepare files for print.
- Customer Engagement: Work directly with customers via phone, email, and in-person to discuss project requirements, provide accurate estimates, and guide them through print options.
- Production Support: Collaborate with the production team to ensure files print properly. May assist with digital production, including wide-format and digital printing tasks.
- Client Management: Handle job inquiries, troubleshoot file issues, and assist customers in achieving their desired print results with professional advice.
Requirements
- Software Proficiency: Expert working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign and Illustrator); Photoshop experience is a major plus.
- Print Knowledge: Understanding of print-ready file preparation (bleeds, resolution, color theory, CMYK vs. RGB).
- Experience: Proven experience in a customer service, graphic design, or prepress role.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines.
- Attitude: Detail-oriented, positive, and collaborative.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a print shop, sign shop, or copy center.
- Background in creating job estimates or quotes.
- Familiarity with digital production or wide-format equipment.
