Job Summary
We are seeking an upbeat, dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our close-knit team! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients while assisting the orthodontist during procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and practices, as well as excellent communication skills to ensure a positive experience for our patients.
Duties
- Assist the orthodontist during various procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterile and ready for use.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating medical histories and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow within the clinic.
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with other dental professionals to provide comprehensive care, including referrals for pediatric dentistry when necessary.
Skills
- Proficient understanding of dental terminology and procedures relevant to orthodontics.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and practices within a dental clinic setting.
- Experience with medical records management and familiarity with HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient care and documentation.
