Substation Engineering Manager
Location: St. Louis, MO

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the substation engineering team, including physical and protection & control engineers, designers, and drafters
- Oversee the design and execution of substation projects, ensuring compliance with timelines, quality standards, and client requirements
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship in areas such as QA/QC, system protection, and power system analysis
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to monitor project progress and resolve issues
- Assist with resource planning and team allocation to meet project deadlines
- Review and approve design packages, including one-line diagrams, relay and metering designs, and physical arrangements for substations ranging from 4.16kV to 500kV
- Support department supervisors in identifying training needs and implementing development programs
- Collaborate with the Director of Substation Engineering and Business Development teams to identify and pursue growth opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in substation design or a related field, with expertise in both physical and protection & control engineering
- Proficiency in substation design, including breaker upgrades, bus protection, and transformer replacement
- Familiarity with industry standards (NERC, NEC, IEEE, NEMA)
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required
