Project Scheduler (Primavera P6)
Long-Term Contract | Virginia | On-Site
We are supporting a large, multi-year capital project within a regulated industrial energy environment and are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler with strong Primavera P6 expertise to join the project team.
This is a long-term on-site assignment in Virginia supporting engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities on a major infrastructure project.
Position Overview
The Project Scheduler will work closely with engineering, construction, and contractor partners to develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules. This role serves as a key scheduling resource, ensuring milestone alignment, schedule integrity, and accurate progress reporting throughout the life of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
- Review contractor-submitted schedules and integrate updates into the master schedule
- Perform critical path analysis, schedule variance analysis, and forecasting using Primavera P6
- Track project issues and schedule impacts, supporting change management and time impact analyses
- Conduct field walkdowns to verify schedule progress and confirm construction sequencing
- Develop and maintain project metrics including progress curves, labor histograms, and milestone tracking
- Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly schedule reports for project leadership and site teams
- Serve as a scheduling subject matter expert and escalation point for schedule-related issues
Required Qualifications
- 5–6 years of experience in project or construction scheduling on large industrial or infrastructure projects
- Hands-on Primavera P6 experience required
- Proven experience with:
- Resource-loaded schedules
- Contractor baseline schedules
- Time impact analysis (TIA)
- Earned value management (EVM) reporting
- Working knowledge of construction and engineering sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings
- Experience converting schedules between platforms (P6 and MS Project)
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, and Word
- Willingness to be on-site in Virginia for a long-term (2 year) assignment
- Minimum High School Diploma required
Assignment Details
- Schedule: 5 days per week / 8-hour days (5×8)
- Duration: January start with long-term project runway (through late 2027)
- Work Model: On-site
- Per Diem: Offered at GSA rates for qualified candidates
