Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500 employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Provider credentialing and privileging including processing applications, re-appointment process, and maintaining accurate database
- Requesting required applications, immunizations, licensure, insurance liability, etc.
- Completes and/or coordinates completion of Provider Enrollment information for various insurance and government agencies
- Provider payer enrollments
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in relation to healthcare or business administration; 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Previous experience in provider credentialing and/or enrollment preferred
- Computer experience required, including proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of internet and file download procedures
- Ability to validate and extract data from documents and enter into database system
- Knowledge of health information related practices and concepts
- Flexibility and the ability to assess daily workloads to determine priorities
- Must uphold high ethical standards
- Exhibit poise and tact when working with staff, physicians, and other members of healthcare team
- Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a professional manner are essential
- Must have excellent organizational skills
Schedule:
- 72 hrs per pay period
- 8:30a-4:30p
- Mon-Fri
- Schedule may fluctuate based on the needs of the department
