Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500 employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Responsibilities:
- Varying shifts in the ED, ICU, Resource, Med/Surg, Birth Center (post-partum) Behavioral Health Services, & Same Day Service Pre-Op and PACU.
- Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the various departments in the hospital.
- Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
- Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care.
- Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience required or equivalent hospital experience
- Critical care experience preferred
- Must be willing to fill Resource Nurse role
- Active IA RN license
- Must have or willing to obtain upon hire: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, Hazmat, Mandatory Reporter, AMLS, and NRP (inhouse education available upon hire!)
- Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
Schedule:
- Full Time benefit eligible
- 72 hours/pp
- 12 hour Day/Night rotation
- Weekend and holiday rotation per department requirements
- The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the hospital
