What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher of Children with Moderate Special Needs for FABAL Program position at Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District?
The Focusing Applied Behavior Analysis on Learning (FABAL) program is an educational program that offers safe learning supports for students who have not experienced success in their regular educational programs due to behavioral deficits. The students are exposed to a variety of group and individualized instructional methods and strategies to enhance their learning opportunities. The FABAL program is designed to be a structure that utilizes a series of support tiers to assist the student to be successful in an inclusive environment.
Reports to: Building Principal and Director of Student Services
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for writing the proposed Individualized Education Program and progress notes for submission to the team chairperson; as well as writes assessment reports
* Provides direction and training to the paraprofessional staff
* Oversees and develops programs for each student on caseload
* Holds monthly parent meetings, consistent parent communication, and develops/supervises training for parents
* Modifies and structures curriculum for student success
* Small group and 1:1 instruction including discrete trial training
* Develops and implements behavior plans for each student
* Data collection and data analysis
* Facilitate inclusion in general education classroom
* Works collaboratively with BCBA
* Performs other school-related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services and the Building Principal.
