Director of Education Secondary
Requirements:
- Kentucky Administrative Certification or Supervisor of Instruction.
Experience:
- Successful leadership and classroom teaching experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Principal Support: Provide direct guidance to principals and school leadership teams regarding school improvement goals and instructional evaluation.
- Professional Learning: Identify needs and plan professional growth opportunities, including pre-service and in-service sessions for instructional staff.
- Curriculum & Innovation: Lead district-wide curriculum planning and support the implementation of innovative, 21st-century skill-infused lessons. Coordinates the efforts to assure the successful implementation of approved programs.
- Data Analysis: Support schools in disaggregating and disseminating interim and summative assessment data to drive curriculum alignment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Increase family engagement rates and maintain strong interpersonal relationships using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- District Leadership: Attend local, area, state, and national professional meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Specialized Level Responsibilities
Director of Secondary Education
- Transition Planning: Lead annual district improvement planning for transitions from middle school to high school and high school to post-secondary settings.
- Workforce Development: Act as a liaison with local businesses and government leaders to recruit employers and coordinate job placements.
- Student Tracking: Maintain oversight for student Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) and manage the TEDS database for career program certification.
- Innovation Research: Conduct research on advancements in programming and resources to inform district decision-making.
