Summary
We are currently accepting applications for a hardworking and self-motivated individual who has knowledge in animal feed, animal health, and tack to lead our department. This is a permanent Full-Time (Monday-Friday) position managing a small team of staff. This position cannot accommodate a student school schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with inquiries about animal feed, animal health, and tack products and services
- Keep department stocked at all times. Ability to lift 60lbs is required
- Manage inventory of all products within the department
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and potential customers
- Outreach to local FFA, University Clubs, youth in the area to build customer base
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department
- Collaborate with team members to enhance customer experience
- Maintain and grow the market
- Work with suppliers to remain educated on developments within the animal feed/health industry
- Handle customer transactions efficiently
- Address any concerns or questions from customers regarding their animals
- Assist with ordering and receiving of products within the department
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred
- Detail-oriented with strong organizations skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers in a retail environment
- Basic knowledge of animal feed, animal health, and tack products
- Team-oriented mindset with a passion for animal welfare
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in animal science is a plus
*This position has the potential for additional bonuses for participating in the Purina Program and meeting all requirements for this program on an annual basis.
