Duties
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on outboard motors using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance on marine engines and associated components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to complete repairs accurately
- Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals to troubleshoot complex systems
- Conduct assembly and rigging of new or repaired outboard motors to meet manufacturer specifications
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks related to marine equipment and perform heavy lifting as needed to handle large components
Skills
- Proven service technician experience with outboard motors or similar mechanical systems
- Strong understanding of schematics, electrical systems, and wiring diagrams
- Military background or experience is a plus for disciplined troubleshooting skills
- Extensive electrical experience including soldering, wiring repairs, and circuit testing
- Mechanical knowledge of engine components, sheet metal work, welding, and fabrication techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering irons, heavy lifting equipment, and maintenance tools
- Experience with vehicle maintenance or marine equipment assembly is highly desirable
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate repair processes and technical information to clients
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and use precision measuring instruments accurately
- Knowledge of rigging procedures for marine applications and familiarity with sales processes related to marine parts
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
