What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Production & Supply Chain position at Speks?
Hi, we’re Speks, a Brooklyn-based design company creating premium sensory products for teens and adults. We sell globally across wholesale, retail, and DTC, and we’re scaling fast.
We’re hiring a Director of Production & Supply Chain to lead production, quality, and vendor strategy across our business.
This is not a coordinator role. You will own how we produce, scale, and deliver products globally, from factory floor to retail shelf.
What You’ll Own
Production
- Own end-to-end production across factories, SKUs, and channels
- Build and manage timelines that actually hold
- Identify risks early and solve them before they impact shipments
Quality
- Own QC across all products and vendors
- Set standards, manage inspections, and drive accountability
- Fix root causes, not just symptoms
Key Accounts (Walmart, Target, etc.) and Global Distributors
- Ensure production meets strict retailer and distributor requirements
- Own execution across packaging, labeling, testing, and timelines
- Be the internal expert on how to deliver for major retail
Vendors
- Manage and push factory partners, primarily in China
- Improve reliability, communication, and output
- Source and onboard new vendors as needed
Compliance
- Own product compliance across markets and retailers
- Ensure everything meets testing, labeling, and regulatory requirements
- Build systems so nothing slips
What We’re Looking For
- 8–12 years in production, supply chain, or operations within consumer products
- Deep experience working with overseas factories
- Strong QC background and understanding of inspections and manufacturing realities
- Experience managing production for major retailers like Walmart or Target
- Familiar with compliance, testing, and packaging requirements
- Experience with global distribution is a plus
