Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator with strong HR compliance expertise to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing, benefits administration and related compliance functions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with ADP payroll systems, working knowledge of Rippling payroll software, and a proven track record of supporting payroll system transitions. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with both Finance, and Operations. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred to support a diverse employee population.
This is the only HR-focused role in a growing company of 200 employees. It represents the opportunity to provide ownership of the entire HR and payroll functions as we continue to expand over the next several years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and oversee the processing of accurate and timely payroll for all employees across multiple states.
- Manage and oversee employee benefits administration, including health, dental, vision and 401(k) programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Partner with Finance to ensure proper reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger integration.
- Serve as subject matter expert on payroll policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Manage and audit employee data, deductions, garnishments, benefits contributions, and tax withholdings.
- Assist in evaluating, selecting, and implementing payroll system upgrades or migrations, with hands-on experience in payroll software transitions.
- Support HR compliance initiatives, including labor law updates, recordkeeping requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Provide guidance and training to management on payroll-related compliance and processes.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of progressive payroll administration experience, with multi-state payroll exposure.
- Experience administering employee benefits, including insurance plans and retirement programs.
- Strong HR compliance knowledge, including wage and hour laws, FLSA, ACA, and state-specific regulations.
- Advanced experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar ADP platforms.
- Familiarity with Rippling payroll software preferred; experience supporting or managing a payroll system transition a plus.
- Proficiency in payroll reporting, reconciliations, and accounting practices.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred but not required.

Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range: $55,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
