Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as you will interact with clients during deliveries. A strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance is essential, along with the ability to handle various types of cargo.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and trucks, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items using equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Ensure accurate delivery of items by verifying contents against shipping documents.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, performing routine inspections and basic maintenance as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
- Navigate efficiently using maps or GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
Skills
- Proficient in operating various types of delivery vehicles, including manual transmission vehicles.
- Experience with pallet jacks and other loading equipment is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients during deliveries.
- Ability to load and unload cargo safely and efficiently.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in commercial driving is a plus.
- Excellent driving record with a valid driver's license.
- Capable of managing time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
