Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly for scheduled surgeries.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies with precision and efficiency.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all phases of surgery to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure proper patient positioning, anesthesia administration support, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and sterile techniques essential for high-quality surgical care.
Requirements
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program; current certification required. Graduation from an Associate Degree program.
- Proven OR experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center settings.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
