Join our team
As the successful Production Supervisor, you will be working with our Production Manager (3 years with Speedling) as well as the East Coast Division Manager (30 years with Speedling). This role will supervise the daily activities of production areas to ensure that volume, cost, quality standards and budget are achieved to exceed customer expectations. Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and production materials to maximize productivity. Identify challenges related to the production process and provide solutions to assist process improvement
The job details
- Supervise all production up to but not limited to seeding, shipping, transplanting, sticking cuttings, consolidation/replugging, spacing, pinching to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
- Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Coordinate with Production Manager and make recommendations on labor needs and placement of crew members on a daily basis. Ensure accountability of all workers.
- Through crew leaders ensure that proper training is provided to workers on all processes and equipment and in addition ensure that all SOP’s are followed consistently.
- Prepare and maintain production/inventory control reports as well as shipping documents.
- Pre-planning of all shipments to ensure smooth process and supervise final quality inspection before the product is shipped.
- Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems.
- Organize safety meetings and ensure that the safety measures are applied in order to protect employees, or assign this task to someone who will act as safety coordinator.
- Maintain optimal quantity of materials without interruptions in a production process flow.Plan and execute inventory each month and at the end of the fiscal year, organizing people, schedule, time, and materials needed.
- Analyze problems that arise and determine actions that will minimize/prevent future problems, decrease costs and/or improve yields. Recommend changes and upon approval, implement those changes.
