What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at Speed Pro Machine?
Welders
Speed Pro Machine is seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be MIG welding all sizes and thicknesses of steel and aluminum. You must be able to read/interpret prints, set up the welding equipment, manipulate heavy components using hoists/lifts, and perform proper fixturing before welding. Applicants must be able to pass a weld test. Tig welding experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
Weld with consistency, maintaining proper penetration and general aesthetics
Create any fixturing necessary using your own ideas and methods
Hold part location within the accuracy of a tape measure/scale
Understand and interpret metric dimensioning/tolerancing (GD&T)
Inspect final products for quality standards
Perform deburring/clean up operations using grinding/sanding equipment
Troubleshoot difficult projects that require unique methods/fixturing
Maintain your welding equipment including gas and wire exchanging/loading
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Requirements
High school diploma or GED certificate
MIG welding experience (at least one year)
TIG welding experience is a plus
Ability to read and interpret prints with welding symbols
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Attention to detail
Understand metric tolerancing
