What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Assistant/Utility Worker position at Speed Fabrication?
## Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of our shop and contribute to production operations. A Shop Assistant will not have a dedicated workstation, but may float to different areas to assist where needed.
## Duties
- Assist welders, powder coaters, machine operators and shipping/receiving.
- Operate machines such as a tube laser or hydraulic press brake.
- Assist with both custom fabrication and large quantity production projects.
- Support shop staff with various tasks and supply organization.
- Operate heavy equipment including forklifts
## Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of skills such as welding, grinding, drills, torches, etc.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects if required
-Willingness to learn operations and advanced equipment is a major plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
