Role Description The Medical Speech-Language Pathologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Bronx, NY with hands on FEES training. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations for patients in skilled nursing and related medical settings. The clinician will develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, document services in accordance with facility and CMS requirements, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Day-to-day tasks involve direct patient care, participation in care planning meetings, communication with families and caregivers, and ongoing monitoring of progress. The role also includes maintaining professional standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and engaging in continuous learning and supervision with designated preceptors.
Qualifications
- Possess strong clinical skills in speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing assessment and treatment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical documentation, electronic health records, and adherence to CMS and facility-specific regulatory guidelines.
- Exhibit effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain sound clinical judgment, problem-solving abilities, and time-management skills in fast-paced medical environments.
- Hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Maintain a valid New York State Speech-Language Pathology license and meet all applicable state and federal requirements. CF welcome
