Overview
Join our small speech practice as a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. In this role, you will provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services tailored to pediatric populations (primarily ages 2-10) in the office setting, private schools and preschools. You will provide speech screenings as well as complete evaluations and implement speech therapy sessions to foster effective communication skills. This position offers an engaging environment dedicated to patient-centered care with a flexible schedule, a central office location and established contacts at local preschools and private schools. You will have your own caseload with the opportunity to add clients based on new screenings. You have the flexibility to set your own schedule.
Although hourly rate is listed - the pay for this position is based on sessions completed as well as evaluations completed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough speech and language assessments for pediatric patients, including comprehensive evaluations of communication abilities and speech production.
- Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans that align with each child's unique needs, goals, and developmental stage.
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques to improve articulation, language comprehension, expressive communication, and fluency.
- Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure consistent support across settings and maximize therapy outcomes.
- Document patient progress accurately including detailed notes on assessments, treatment plans, and session outcomes
- Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology by participating in ongoing education and applying new strategies to enhance patient results.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program; licensure in NC
- Proven experience working with pediatric populations in clinical settings such as schools, clinics, or early intervention programs.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech production and language development.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations for individuals with speech impairments or disabilities.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, patient assessment tools, and multidisciplinary collaboration processes.
- Experience implementing speech therapy plans for children with diverse needs including developmental delays or disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families and team members while fostering a positive therapeutic environment.
