What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at Speech and Language Development Center?
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Finance Director to lead our finance operations, strengthen internal controls, and provide strategic insights that drive our mission forward.
As our Finance Director, you’ll be the financial backbone of Linden Oaks, partnering with leadership to ensure strong fiscal management and long-term sustainability. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, treasury, and reconciliations.
- Managing a $12M budget, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Driving process improvements and implementing a new ERP/accounting system (2025/26).
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP and overseeing audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
- Providing strategic analysis, cost modeling, and insights to support decision-making.
- Mentoring and developing a dedicated finance team.
Qualified Candidates Will Possess The Following:
- Active California CPA license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership and P&L responsibility.
- 3 years in a Controller or senior finance management role.
- Expertise in QuickBooks and ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial insights for diverse audiences.
- Experience in nonprofit or government accounting a plus.
