The Mechanic/Vehicle Technician Lead will motivate and lead a team of mechanics in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Hours and Wages
- Monday-Friday, 3:00PM start
- Occasional Saturdays as needed
- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
- $21-34 per hour, based on experience
- $2.00 per hour shift differential
- 1.00 per hour shift lead premium
- Ability to lead a team of mechanics
- Coordinate replacements for routes that have vehicles under repair
- Ability to use scan tool and laptop technology
- Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
- Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
- Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
- Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to build, motivate, and lead a high performing team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3 years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
- Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
- Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
