Overview:
A rapidly growing energy infrastructure company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role will support the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, statutory reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and enjoy working cross-functionally to support accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Support corporate accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and financial statements.
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries, including prepaid expenses, insurance, payroll, accruals, and other corporate accounting activities.
- Manage accounting for equity reclassifications, intangible asset amortization, and other assigned areas.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly account analyses and variance reporting.
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Coordinate monthly accrual processes to ensure timely and accurate expense recognition.
- Assist with statutory reporting requirements for international entities.
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audits by internal and external auditors.
- Partner with internal controls and business stakeholders to strengthen accounting processes and maintain compliance.
- Assist with system implementations, process automation initiatives, and other continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 years of progressive accounting and/or public accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Background
- Public accounting experience highly valued.
- Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
- Exposure to internal controls, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience working in a high-growth or complex corporate environment is a plus.
