Now Hiring: Payroll Specialist with Payroll Tax Experience

We're looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist with Payroll Tax experience to join our growing team and lead payroll operations across multiple states. What You’ll Do:

• Take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing for employees across various states on a semi-monthly basis.
• Manage payroll taxs including journal entries, deductions and multi state taxes.
• Handle calculations for wages, bonuses, and special pay, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations for overtime, holiday, and leave pay.
• Partner with HR and Accounting teams to address employee pay questions, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure timely resolutions.
• Review, reconcile, and audit timesheets and payroll reports, escalating discrepancies where necessary.
• Produce regular and ad-hoc payroll reports for management and the Controller.
• Keep up-to-date with changing wage laws, tax requirements, and labor regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Oversee timesheet submissions and monitor deadlines to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support payroll operations related to government contracting employees.

What You Bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related discipline is preferred.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing or payroll management.
• Strong track record working with multi-state payroll systems and compliance.
• Experience using payroll systems (iSolved experience is a major plus!).
• Familiarity with tax laws, labor codes, and general payroll best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to perform reconciliations and analyze payroll data.
• FPC or CPP certification preferred.
• Prior exposure to Unanet and government contract payroll a definite advantage.
• Excellent organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator who can maintain policy standards and support self-service initiatives.
• Capable of balancing multiple priorities while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
