As a Technical Program Associate on the SDIT team this leader is responsible for the strategic direction and management of an autonomous team that consistently produces quality, reduces complexity, and delivers faster time-to-market through collaboration. Develop a high performing organization by creating and fostering an iterative and continuously improving environment. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product planning, deployment, and support.
WHAT OUR TECH PROGRAM ASSOCIATES ENJOY MOST
Gain relevant, operational level experience and understanding of the systems and processes associated within the software development life cycle which may contain exposure in several of the following areas: full stack front end/back end development, quality assurance/testing, and cybersecurity.
Develop knowledge and gain insight into multiple departments in SDIT by understanding unique technology requirements within each rotation and learning each vertical’s responsibilities and methodologies, with the goal to conduct responsibilities alongside the teams.
Complete responsibilities as assigned in each rotation with eventual goal to own certain responsibilities and provide feedback, insight, and collaboration to the work developed.
Design, implement, and deliver fundamental products for software and applications.
Write code that meets production requirements and design specifications for deployments across the enterprise. Participate in peer code reviews.
Define and track product test metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status for both manual and automated processes.
Create manual test cases based on requirements. Perform troubleshooting of automation scripts and enhance scripts if needed.
Learn project requirements and analyze business system and client requirements for application and software implementations and enhancements.
Participate in project meetings and standups and provide insight as requested.
Collaborate at various intervals throughout lifecycle of a project.
Collaborate on the creation and viability for application enhancements developed for the external customer.
Participate in proof of concept sessions and work on requirements needed for enhancements.
Troubleshoot issues with application alongside teams.
Partner with security teams to understand vulnerabilities and identify security remediation plans.
Work in partnership to resolve issues across enterprise.
Monitor systems and applications for projects that have deployed to ensure operational excellence and efficiency.
Troubleshoot issues, defects, and outages in a production environment.
Participate in triage exercises to resolve production alerts and exercises.
Perform data analyses, develop and prepare information and solutions to support rotational teams in their daily responsibilities.
Collaborate with several levels of management and employees to learn organization in specific rotation and its business partners.
- Support and assist employees in each vertical with their current initiatives and work in the pipeline.
- Partner with members of the SDIT teams to identify opportunities to review processes, improve processes and develop strong team and customer relationships.
- Mentor fellow trainees onsite with experience learned from prior rotations to help others understand particular verticals.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Information Technology experience gained through work experience or practicum training
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Engineering required, or combination of required work experience and education
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge and ability to code, test, manipulate data, and develop solutions for applications/software.
- Basic knowledge and ability to code in Java or a similar object-oriented programming language
- Basic knowledge and ability to code in Javascript or a similar scripting programming language
- Basic Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
- Basic Knowledge of elements within rotational program
- Basic knowledge of project management skills and process mindset
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective ability to present, communicate, and influence others of varying skills and abilities.
- Basic ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines and projects by using appropriate methodology and tools
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines with uncompromising ethics
- Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
