Position: Job Coach for Male Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Due to the specific needs of the individuals served, this role requires staff who can consistently implement behavior support strategies related to boundaries, social skills, and relationship-building, in alignment with individualized plans.
Status: Part time, up to 29 hours per week. We can add more hours to the schedule depending on candidate's availability. Please submit your application only if you are available for the following shifts:
- Tuesday 11:30am-2:00pm in Littleton (80123)
- Thursday 10:00am-1:00pm in Lakewood (80227)
- Thursday 2:00-4:30pm in Wheat Ridge (80033)
- Fridays 9:30-2:30 in Denver (80205)
Compensation: $23.00-$25.00 an hour based on experience.
Position Overview:
Job Coaches serve as liaison between individuals with disabilities and their employer to provide maximum opportunity for competitive integrated employment.
As a Job Coach, not only are you able to help them meet their goals and learn new skills, but you get to work with the kindest population, all while observing their intellectual and developmental growth.
Job Functions:
- Assist client understand the functions and additional tasks of their jobs.
- Provides support to employers as agreed upon by clients, which may include negotiating job accommodation and follow-along contact by the employment specialist with the employer.
- Assist clients communicate with coworkers and management.
- Assist clients in advocating for their needs while at work.
- Provide comprehensive job preparation and development support, including resume building, job search assistance, application submission, interview preparation, and attending interviews alongside the individual to ensure confidence and success.
- Conduct application follow-ups, employer outreach, and job search activities independently and remotely when appropriate, particularly during times when the individual is unavailable, to maintain consistent progress toward employment goals.
- Adhere to safe and healthy practices by complying with workplace safety and health policies and procedures and reporting unsafe work conditions at job sites.
- Maintain proper community supervision requirements.
- Providing transportation to and from work is required for some clients.
- Complete daily notes and goals tracking through Spectrum’s provided online tools and monthly paperwork.
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 18 years of age of older
- High energy, positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and a passion for caring for others.
- Pass a Criminal and Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) background check.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and has a driving record in good standing.
- Reliable vehicle with proof of auto insurance.
- Dependable and Punctual
- Positive attitude, compassionate and critical thinking.
- Good written, verbal communication and comprehension skills
- Excellent communication skills with peers and staff members.
- Non-certified Job Coaches are encouraged to apply. Training and certification will be provided.
Physical Requirements
- Able to provide all elements of hands-on care per client’s individual needs.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 4-5 hours.
- Must be able to stop, bend and reach overhead
Experience
- At least six months to one year working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Spectrum provides the following training initially and for recertification:
- Initial Orientation and On-Boarding
- Paid training (for job preparation)
- CPR/First Aid/Universal Precautions
- Safety Care Behavioral Safety Training
