What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician / Scribe position at Spectrum Vision Partners?
The Role
Were hiring compassionate and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technicians and Scribes to support our providers and enhance the patient experience.
In this role, you'll perform pre-exam testing, document patient encounters in the EMR, assist during exams and procedures, and help ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
You play a key role in helping our physicians diagnose and treat eye conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain and document patient history
Perform vision testing (distance, near, peripheral, depth, color)
Administer eye drops (dilating, anesthetic, medicated)
Conduct routine and ancillary ophthalmic testing
Scribe and document provider findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans
Triage urgent cases and maintain patient flow
Prepare exam/procedure rooms and assist physicians as needed
Perform basic equipment maintenance
Follow infection control and confidentiality standards
What Youll Bring
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
EMR Experience Preferred
Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus
Positive, team-oriented attitude
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 10 lbs
Ophthalmology or medical office experience preferred but not required for the right candidate.
