Overview
Spectrum Therapy Services is a privately owned practice in the State of Virginia. This position is uniquely owned by an OTR, and currently we consist of OTR's, PT's, and SLP's. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 1099 contracted service to cover our ever expanding caseload, to carry a case load in the Greater RVA area, for immediate hire, for a quickly growing full time caseload.
This position entails In person, tele-health and remote work, and the candidate must be licensed in the state of Va. While this position is listed as remote, it does also include in person sessions!
Please only apply if you have the ability to reside in Va and engage in in person visits, as well as remote work! It is important to live in the Greater RVA area, so that in person visits are feasable. However we are not a weekly service, so there is tremendous flexibility with your schedule!
Experience with Intellectual and Developmentally Disability is a plus. Waiver experience is also a plus!

The contracted therapist must have their own transportation, in order to provide services at the location where the client resides (such as Group homes, Day Supports, Sponsored residential), and a computer/laptop, for telehealth and remote work. Settings primarily include Group Homes, Day Supports, client home and sponsored residential homes in addition to the community.

Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of client physical factors, sensory regulation and modulation, cognitive levels, social skills, activities of daily living to include ADL's and IADL's. Further assess safety needs and recommendations through durable medical equipment, home safety assessment, modifications/adaptations, and needed sensory tools for regulation.
- Develop occupational therapy support plans reflective of clients needs.
- Implement consultative services with emphasis on training to all caregivers across all settings to enhance the overall functional abilities and safety for each client.
- Collaborate with other providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in telehealth meetings with other team members, providers, case managers and family members and clients.
- Documentation of each visit through detailed daily note, graph charting and quarterly reports.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices in occupational therapy.
Skills
- Proficiency in various occupational therapy practices.
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability is highly beneficial.
- Basic computer skills needed. Word document, Excell spreadsheets and One Drive experience will be a plus.
- Strong observational skills, communication skills, interpreting data and report writing skills, problem solving skills, and out of the box approach to providing consultative services to clients and carevivers across many settings.
- Comfort level of working in a variety of settings, self directed, highly organized and a comfort level of working independently for the greater part of each day.
- Ability to develop rapport with caregivers and clients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of current trends in occupational therapy practices and evidence-based interventions.
- Compassionate approach with a focus on client-centered care.
