Job Overview
The Vice President of Clinical Services provides executive-level oversight and leadership to an experienced team of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Behavior Analysts, Behavior Specialists, and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). This role is responsible for advancing clinical excellence, standardizing evidence-based practices, driving strategic program growth, and ensuring high-quality services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals with severe behavioral challenges. The Vice President of Clinical Services works collaboratively across departments—including Quality Assurance, Operations Residential Services, Operations Day Habilitation, Finance, Training, and Recruitment—to promote integrated service delivery, staff development, and organizational sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of clinical standards across all clinical support staff, beginning at hiring and continuing throughout employment
- Lead and support clinical projects, ensuring Directors and Managers have appropriate resources to meet program goals
- Identify, develop, implement, evaluate and effectively strategize new programs and service lines
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to develop, communicate, and continuously assess clinical operational plans
- Ensure ongoing clinical education and professional development opportunities for clinical staff
- Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and protocols
- Conduct annual reviews and revisions of the Behavioral Manual, Behavior Management Committee materials, and related policies
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with clinical and operational standards
- Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance quality of care and outcomesPromote and implement technology solutions to improve efficiency, communication, and clinical operations
- Participate in on-going Admissions Committee needs
- Ensure successful completion of annual licensing and compliance requirements related to clinical mandates
- Job Accountabilities:
- Participate in Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors meetings; provide regular clinical reports
- Lead and facilitate clinical department meetings in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer or designee Serve as an advocate for residents and staff to ensure safety and quality of care
- Build high-performing teams, manage conflict, and promote cross-departmental collaboration Support staff success through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
- Oversee staff scheduling, time and attendance, PTO approvals, and overtime management Direct hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of assigned staff
- Align clinical department goals with the FOC II strategic plan and organizational growth initiatives Develop innovative programs that enhance quality of life and safety for individuals served Ensure appropriate clinical coverage across all programs and adjust staffing based on clinical need Perform additional duties as assigned
Experience
- Advanced degree in Psychology or related field; Doctorate preferred
- BCBA-D required
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive operational leadership experience in a highly matrixed healthcare or human services environment
- Demonstrated experience managing personnel and communicating with executive leadership and Boards
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, strategic-focused, financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills
- Proven ability to build consensus and lead organizational change
- Expansive background in behavioral analytic application for a variety of behavioral needs among the adult population with IDD
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
- Experience working independently and in collaborative, team-oriented settings Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, timelines, and operational demands
- Persuasive, motivating, and supportive leadership style Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with budgeting and resource management
