ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Location: American Fork, UT

Reports to: Controller

Compensation: $60 - $70K bonus

Your Role:

As the Accounting Specialist, you’ll support the daily finance and accounting operations that keep the business running smoothly. You’ll handle AP/AR processing, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end tasks while assisting with payroll, sales tax compliance, and audits. This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable balancing routine tasks with more complex accounting work as the company grows.

What You’ll Do:

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger activity.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reporting.
• Maintain organized financial records, documentation, and reports.
• Resolve invoicing, payment, and reconciliation issues with internal teams.
• Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate employee records.
• Set up and manage multi-state sales tax accounts and ensure compliance.
• Support cash flow forecasting, audits, and other accounting tasks as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

• Degree in accounting, finance, or related field — or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of experience in AP/AR, payroll, or general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting software (Sage 100 or similar a plus).
• Solid understanding of GAAP and multi-state tax requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work discreetly and handle confidential information.
