Job Summary
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing daily releases from MPR process, analysing ERP data from automated reports, assuring all levels of manufactured components were issued and Sales orders (Customer PO’s) properly broke-down in order to meet internal and external customer demands.
Perform cycle counts in productive areas, completing reconciliation and posting processes, analysing results and submitting RFQs/Purchase requests, using IQMS tools identify potential shortages that requires follow ups.
This position must be able to communicate with customer service, raw material vendors, and the production floor personnel and assist the Production Manager in everyday production activities. The position will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attends and participates in the daily sales and production meetings (Tier 2&3) by providing product scheduling, raw material, and MRO procurement updates.
- Sets and reviews supply items and raw material min/max reports, booking reports, and schedules.
- Evaluate open orders to ensure on time in full delivery is achieved.
- Create shop orders from P.O.’s via IQMS and help ensure orders are scheduled appropriately.
- Helps resolve shop order discrepancies.
- Monitors production progress on all extrusion lines, secondary operations, and communicates any constraints accordingly with the appropriate personnel.
- Reviews daily production records and assist in completing daily extrusion reporting of the extrusion lines including data utilized for yield reporting.
- Evaluates historical sales data to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
- Retrieves and maintains production shop order data after production runs.
- Communicates with Customer Service regarding lead times and constraints.
- Works with Production, Tooling Fabrication, and Engineering to ensure timely production and development schedules are maintained. Places orders for all mentioned.
- Interacts with service and vendors including material/tooling status, pricing changes, service/materials disruptions, and relays said information appropriately.
- Leads in reviewing Raw Material, Work in Process, and Finished Goods Inventory to ensure appropriate levels are maintained and to help avoid stock out situations in all areas.
- Prepare reports for safety stock and inventory gaps and maintains items list of each including the addition of new items in IQMS.
- Coordinate with management group and analyze all new product launch needs associated with capacity, raw materials, and tooling.
- Evaluate all inventory levels and implement actions as required by finance department/plant management to ensure there are no stock outs.
- Monitor all inventory issues and ensure effective resolution for all.
- Participate in inventory audit scheduled events.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and manage inventory for organization.
- Prepare and reconcile all daily cycle count processes and prepare reports within timeframe.
- Maintain and update IQMS inventory on regular basis and ensure accuracy of same at all times.
- Coordinate with sales departments and provide inventory support at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required, APCIS certification preferred
- Understanding of IQMS ERP and manufacturing processes a must
- Windows operating system in a networked environment
- Microsoft Office

Salary : $62,355 - $68,000
