Hospitalist – AdventHealth Ocala

Location: Ocala, Florida

Schedule: Weekends and/or PRN Weekdays | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Support: ARNP Support Available

Job Summary

The Hospitalist will provide comprehensive clinical care for patients admitted to AdventHealth Ocala. This role also includes consultative support for surgical and specialty services through a general internal medicine practice.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and manage patients in the acute care setting
• Perform detailed histories and physical examinations
• Diagnose and actively manage patient conditions, including daily inpatient care
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic studies and laboratory tests
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care, incision and drainage, splinting)
• Prescribe and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications
• Collaborate with consulting physicians and refer patients to appropriate specialists as needed
• Ensure efficient utilization of hospital resources and adherence to clinical pathways
• Facilitate timely referrals to tertiary care facilities when appropriate
  
  

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Medicine (MD or DO)
• Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (IM or FM)
• Active Florida medical license in good standing
• DEA license (active or eligible)
