Overview:

The Milling Lead for the All-on-X Department plays a critical role in overseeing daily milling operations that support full-arch implant restorations. This individual leads a team of nesting technicians, manages multiple milling machines, and drives consistent production quality, efficiency, and throughput across the department.

This role reports directly to the All-on-X Business Unit Leader for Operations and works in close partnership with the Process and Technology Owner for Digital Manufacturing to advance workflow improvements, support new technology implementation, and optimize milling processes. The Milling Lead also collaborates closely with the finishing team to ensure all milled restorations meet established quality and production standards.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

Milling Operations

• Oversee daily milling operations for the All-on-X department.
• Supervise and support nesting technicians responsible for case preparation and nesting strategies.
• Manage machine scheduling and workflow to ensure efficient production and timely case completion.
• Optimize machine utilization and material usage across multiple milling systems.

Quality Oversight

• Ensure high quality standards for all milled restorations.
• Collaborate with the finishing team to verify milling accuracy, fit, and surface quality.
• Identify and resolve milling defects, inaccuracies, or recurring production issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce remakes and improve consistency.

Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

• Monitor performance and operational readiness of all milling machines.
• Work with the maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance and machine servicing are completed.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and escalating technical concerns when needed.

Process & Technology Collaboration

• Partner with the Process and Technology Owner for Digital Manufacturing to implement new milling technologies, materials, and workflows.
• Support process improvements and workflow standardization within the milling department.

Team Leadership

• Train, mentor, and support nesting technicians and milling operators.
• Promote accountability, productivity, and adherence to department standards.
• Contribute to a collaborative and quality-focused production environment.

Performance & Quality Metrics

Performance in this role will be measured through operational and quality-based metrics, including:

• Production throughput and schedule adherence
• Milling machine utilization and operational efficiency
• Quality outcomes and remake rates related to milling
• Equipment reliability and maintenance coordination
• Team productivity and workflow efficiency

Who We’re Looking For:

• Experience in dental laboratory CAD/CAM or milling operations
• Knowledge of implant restorations and full-arch prosthetics
• Hands-on experience with dental milling machines and nesting workflows
• Strong understanding of digital dental manufacturing processes
• Experience in high-volume All-on-X production environments, preferred
• Familiarity with zirconia, PMMA, titanium, and hybrid prosthetic materials a plus
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a production setting, ideal

The anticipated hourly pay range for this role is $21-$23. Final compensation will be individually assessed and may differ based on a variety of factors such as your experience, qualifications, education, skill set, certifications, and other relevant considerations.
