What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Transport, Part Time, Evening Shift, Blodgett position at Spectrum Health?
- Prepares patient for transport and performs passive and active identification to ensure all patients are properly identified before transporting.
- Transports all patients and equipment to and from testing and procedure areas including inpatient, outpatient, emergency and high-risk Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Effectively communicates with medical employees to ensure all required medical supplies and medications are appropriately transported with the patient including the administering of oxygen when required.
- Responsible for the timely discharge of patients throughout the hospital.
- Under the direction of medical employees and/or Registered Nurse (RN), assists in providing support in toileting ambulatory patients.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment according to established policies and procedures. Maintains clean work areas and returns equipment to appropriate department. Communicates malfunctioning equipment/instruments to appropriate department/unit staff.
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Spectrum Health Grand Rapids and Pennock Hospital within 90 Days after hire required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Spectrum Health Grand Rapids and Pennock Hospital within 90 Days after hire required
