Location: Goochland, VA. The Virginia Correctional Center for Women program utilizes the Cognitive Therapeutic Community model while blending gender responsive and cognitive restructuring approaches.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
Pay Rate: 52,000 ($25.00/hr.). Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification/license are eligible for $58,000 ($27.88/hr.)

The Counselor is responsible for:
- Facilitating group programming and meetings, individual counseling sessions, case management services, and clinical documentation.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established timeframes.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary treatment planning, case reviews, and conferences.
- Working closely with the Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality delivery of services and promote a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizens.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required.
- State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description.
- Experience working in the substance abuse treatment field is preferred.
- Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
- Experience working in Therapeutic Community model programs is a plus.
