Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator to manage, maintain, and support our cloud, end user, and infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with troubleshooting end user systems, Microsoft 365 administration, and core Windows Server and TCP/IP network environments. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our end user systems and infrastructure. Both on-premises and cloud-based systems. This position will also support our classified systems.
Compensation Range: $70,000 to $90,000.00 annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and on-premises network technologies.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of administrative tasks, system configurations, and reporting.
- Install, configure, and manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Hyper-V, and Intune.
- Install, configure, and manage network infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group memberships across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Ensure proper patch management and regular software updates.
- Maintain security best practices including endpoint protection, multifactor authentication, and conditional access policies.
- Provide Tier 1 and 2 technical support and resolve escalated help desk issues.
- Participate in IT projects such as cloud migrations, software deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Support our modernizations to positively change our systems.
- Support the internal and external training needs to promote user adoption of new and changed systems.
- Act as an information security team member supporting our requirements.
- Synergize with the IT teams to support ITSM and Agile practices.
- Document procedures, configurations, and system changes in a clear and organized manner.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role (3 years).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and tools (Intune, Defender, Azure Active Directory, Azure IaaS).
- Strong understanding of Windows Server architecture and services.
- Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, vLANs, etc.).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V).
- Obtain a government clearance or already have one.
Preferred:
- Experience in hybrid environments integrating on-prem and cloud resources.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53, 800-171 frameworks
- Security or similar certifications
