Job Title: Prototype Build Engineer Duration: 12 months Location: Auburn Hills, MI Schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Job Description: The Prototype Build Engineer will be responsible for managing all prototype build activities including developing and communicating build plans based on vehicle specifications, coordinating purchasing, tracking development, and program timing for parts. In addition, this individual will be responsible for leading multiple teams to ensure all program deliverables are met and any issues affecting build quality, engineering design, manufacturing process, and timing are resolved. The Prototype Build Engineer must have the ability to direct issue resolution at all levels. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Aero/Industrial Engineering Basic vehicle build process knowledge Fluency in Microsoft Office applications Strong leadership and excellent communication skills Must be comfortable with preparing presentations and presenting to all levels strong self-starter able to manage multiple programs and communicate status to management Formula SAE experience or relevant automotive internship experience is preferred for entry level candidates Preferred: Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in automotive, aerospace field Candidates MUST possess a strong mechanical engineering foundation with exposure to the following areas: Engineering Design Manufacturing Engineering Process Engineering Success Factors The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced prototype environment Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills Initiative, ownership, and a willingness to learn Ability to balance multiple priorities while meeting program timing requirements
