Job Title: Medical Lab Technician I Location: 2030 Lay Dam Road Clanton, AL 35045 Duration: 06-Month Contract to Possible Hire (Extension Possible) Schedule: 9pm-7am | 7 on 7 off Interview Process: Video Conference Job Summary We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT I) to join a small 30-bed hospital laboratory in Clanton, AL. This is a generalist role supporting the Core Laboratory with responsibilities across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Blood Bank. The ideal candidate will have strong Blood Bank experience and enjoy working in a collaborative hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Blood Bank. Conduct specimen processing, analysis, and result reporting according to laboratory procedures. Perform blood bank testing, including compatibility testing and related procedures. Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and quality control records. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Follow CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and laboratory quality assurance standards. Ensure accurate specimen identification and timely reporting of results. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to support patient care. Participate in quality improvement and laboratory safety initiatives. Required Qualifications Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent qualification meeting CLIA requirements. Current ASCP or AMT certification (required). Generalist laboratory experience. Blood Bank experience is required. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital laboratory.
