Spectora is the leading SaaS property inspection platform on a mission to transform property ownership, starting with inspections. We serve as the trusted technology partner for inspectors across the country, helping them build and scale successful businesses through our all-in-one platform.

With a decade-long track record and market-leading position, we touch about half of all property sales in the United States. Our flagship product is an all-in-one business solution that helps inspectors conduct and share inspections, manage and automate their operations, and market their business.

We're proud to be the market leader in the home inspection space, an achievement made possible by our relentless focus on our customers, product, and team. Today, we're not just competing in the industry, we're helping elevate it by simplifying complex processes, innovating with cutting edge technology, and empowering inspectors and property owners alike in what matters most.

And we win because of our people.

Our culture is powered by a high-energy, hilarious team who bring both IQ and EQ to the table. We push ourselves and each other to grow in our work and as humans, and we're serious about being the best versions of ourselves without taking ourselves too seriously. Spectora is a genuinely exceptional place to work (if we do say so ourselves).

What You'll Do

Lead the engineering teams that power our entire technology ecosystem. You'll oversee Platform/DevOps, Data Engineering, and Information Security - the critical infrastructure that enables our product teams to ship fast and safely. Your teams will be responsible for our cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, security posture, and developer productivity tooling.

You're a technical leader who understands that platform teams are force multipliers. You've built and scaled infrastructure at growing companies, designed data systems that handle real volume, and implemented security practices that don't slow teams down. You've learned that the best platform teams obsess over developer experience metrics and treat internal tools as products. You bring deep technical knowledge in cloud platforms, data architecture, and security best practices, combined with the leadership skills to build teams that other engineers love working with.

Responsibilities

  • Platform Engineering Leadership: Own AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/observability stack. Drive infrastructure-as-code practices and automated deployment strategies

  • Security & Compliance: Establish security engineering practices including SIEM, vulnerability management, access controls, and compliance automation. Balance security requirements with developer velocity
  • Developer Productivity: Measure and improve deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR, and change failure rate. Build internal tools and platforms that make the right thing the easy thing
  • Operational Excellence: Own SLOs/SLIs, incident management, and post-mortem culture. Drive reliability improvements through automation and systematic problem-solving
  • Cost Optimization: Manage cloud spend, implement FinOps practices, and ensure efficient resource utilization across all platforms

  • Metrics-Driven: Obsession with DORA metrics, SLO/SLI frameworks, and using data to drive platform decisions
  • Technical Depth: Ability to review PRs, debug production issues, and make architectural decisions across infrastructure, data, and security domains
  • Bonus: Experience with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, Vue environments
