About the Position

As our People Ops Generalist, you'll be the essential link between strategy and execution.You'll work directly with our Head of People Ops to build systems that scale from the ground up. If you have a few years of progressive HR experience under your belt and want to build something meaningful, this is a great opportunity to make a mark on a genuinely exceptional culture and shape the daily experience of our people while having the backing of a supportive team.
This is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week spent in our Denver (Wash Park) office. You'll report directly to the Head of People Operations, who will provide strategic direction, thought partnership on your work, and support you in your professional development. You'll have ownership of execution while having guidance on the what and why. You'll also work closely with our People Ops Coordinator, who focuses on culture & administrative support and talent acquisition.

Core Responsibilities
- Process & Systems Development:
- Execute on strategic initiatives the People team is working on, while building out the practical HR processes the team needs to scale
- Create manager resources, templates, and workflows that support consistent practices
- Track key People Ops metrics, provide data-driven insights, identify operational gaps, and proactively build solutions
- HR Operations & Compliance:
- Manage the day-to-day for benefits administration- employee questions, enrollment management, carrier coordination, and issue resolution.
- Own compliance across federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Manage leave administration and maintain accurate employee files
- Create and manage our employee handbook and HR policies as we scale
- Manage offboarding processes with sensitivity and attention to detail
- Employee Experience & Problem Solving:
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on complex situations that require good judgment and discernment
- Support employee relations matters with discretion and care, with the Head of People Ops as your coach
- Partner with managers on coaching conversations, employee support, and navigating challenging dynamics
- Build trust across the organization by handling whatever comes up with efficiency, good judgment, and care
- Culture & Employee Engagement:
- Act as a core member of our People Ops team, driving engagement initiatives and designing meaningful touch points & celebrations for our incredible team
- Conduct engagement surveys, analyze feedback, and support action planning
- Champion the values and culture that make Spectora exceptional
- 3 years of progressive HR or People Operations experience, ideally in a startup or tech environment where processes aren't mature (less than 200 employees) and you've touched most aspects of the employee lifecycle
- HR fundamentals and practical knowledge. You understand employment law (or know where to find the right answers quickly), benefits administration, leave management, and what it takes to keep a growing company compliant across multiple states
- Experience handling sensitive information and complex situations with confidentiality, sound judgment, and care. You're comfortable navigating workplace conflicts, performance issues, and employee concerns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can write engaging and clear messaging and policies, facilitate conversations, and present information to members of the leadership team
- Experience building or implementing HR processes, policies, and programs, ideally from scratch or in a growing environment
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment. You excel at managing your own time, setting priorities, working autonomously, and proactively communicating while staying connected to the team
- Proficiency with technology and systems, and can work efficiently with data and spreadsheets. Our primary tools are Gusto, Greenhouse, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Slack.
- You're a people person with genuine passion. You embody optimism and have a bias towards action. You truly care about your work and creating exceptional experiences for the team. People trust you with their most impactful moments.
