SPECIMEN PROCESSOR

Spector Scientific Lab is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team. The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities:

-Receive samples, open boxes, and organize the workspace

-Enter all patient demographic and testing information into the LIS system, label all samples for testing

-Check samples and requisition forms for adequacy and flag any discrepancies or issues

-Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client

-Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

-Additional duties include performing sample preparation for analysis and testing, accurately labeling patient samples, following daily protocols

-Meet department activity and production goals

Benefits:

Requirements/Qualifications:

-Ability to work full-time shift Tuesday to Saturday

-Experience in processing department 1 year

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Intermediate or higher: Computer literacy and competency

- Proficient in Adobe, MS Office (write, edit, format documents

- Above average typing speed

- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens

-Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail

- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
