Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Optometric Technician located in Covington, GA. The Optometric Technician will assist the Optometrist in providing quality patient care, which includes conducting pre-tests, operating diagnostic equipment, scheduling appointments, verifying insurances, maintaining medical records and assisting patients in the optical. The technician will also ensure the smooth operation of the medical office through administrative tasks and patient interactions, contributing to an efficient, patient-focused environment.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide exceptional patient service
- Experience with appointment scheduling, insurance verification and medical office operations
- Basic knowledge of optometry and familiarity with diagnostic equipment
- Comfortable with being in exam room with doctor & patients
- Respect & follow all HIPAA laws by working confidentially and keeping patient’s information private
- Available during business office hours on Monday - Friday
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting
- Prior experience in an eye care or medical office setting is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education, certifications and/or experience in an optometric or ophthalmic assisting are advantageous
Compensation
Starting pay is $17 per hour, with adjustments based on education and experience
