Position: Quality Engineer

Location: Burlington, New Jersey

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000

Role Description


We’re seeking a Quality Engineer who is detail-oriented and proactive in approach. This position is responsible for ensuring product compliance, executing quality assurance strategies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality engineering principles, proven problem-solving skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive process improvements.


This position is based on-site at our Manufacturing and Warehouse Facility in Burlington, New Jersey.

This position follows a hybrid work model, with four days per week on-site at our Burlington, NJ facility. Fridays may be worked from home when appropriate, and there may be occasional travel to our Headquarters or the need to finish the week on-site depending on business needs.


What You'll Do:


Quality Assurance & Process Control:

  • Develop and maintain quality plans, control plans, and inspection criteria
  • Define critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics for products and processes
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by establishing quality requirements
  • Participate in process mapping and risk-based planning (e.g., PFMEA).

Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis:

  • Investigate defects, non-conformances, and customer complaints
  • Perform root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagram)
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as, ISO 9001, ISO14001,
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards
  • Prepare documentation for audits and certifications
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and records

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain and update quality documentation, including SOPs, Work Instructions, Control plans, inspection records, and quality manuals.
  • Prepare quality reports and metrics for management review.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics and trends to identify areas of improvement.
  • Ensure document control and revision compliance

Continuous Improvement:

  • Improve efficiency, reliability, and product quality.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce defects and waste
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, R&D, and supply chain, to address quality challenges.
  • Train employees in quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Train staff on quality standards and best practices.


Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with quality systems and process improvement.

Skills

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, GD&T).
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • ISO Internal/Lead Auditor certification.
