Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Gainesville, FL, for a Surgical Neurophysiologist. The Surgical Neurophysiologist will be responsible for real-time intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) to support surgical procedures, such as spine and brain surgeries. In collaboration with surgeons and operating room staff, the candidate will monitor neurophysiology data to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Additional responsibilities include using EEG and other neurodiagnostic technologies, maintaining meticulous records, and ensuring compliance with procedural protocols.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in neurophysiology, EEG, and intraoperative monitoring
- Experience working in an operating room setting and monitoring spine surgeries
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with surgical and OR teams
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
- ABRET certification (CNIM) preferred or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent training and experience
- Prior experience in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring is a plus
