What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Containment Pharmacist position at SPECIALTY RX INC?
We are looking for a Pharmacist to join our Cost Containment team!
Under the supervision of the Director of Cost Containment Pharmacist, and in compliance with all local, state, federal, and company laws and regulations, ensures the accurate and safe distribution of medical products to client facilities.
SpecialtyRx is an innovative, full-service pharmacy who partners with subacute and long-term care facilities throughout the United States, transforming drug care by facilitating the complete medication dispensing process.
Hours: Full Time Days Shift; Monday through Friday and weekend if needed
Key Responsibilities
· Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff when necessary.
· Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.
· Clinical skills needed: medical history, therapies and laboratory data, etc.
· Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members, regarding medication-related query.
· Ability to provide shift coverage as needed and perform other daily cost-containment and therapeutic interchange tasks across all locations.
Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of NJ (Required) and NY, OH, PA, KY & TX licensure a (Plus)
- Long Term Care experience preferred
- Certified Consultant Pharmacist Training bonus
- Previous experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields
- Knowledge of drug pricing and medication classes, preferred
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Strong attention to detail
- Computer literate, knowledge of Frameworks LTC system, PLUS
