JOB TITLE: Estimator

JOB OVERVIEW
Seeking a detail-oriented and experience estimator. Responsible for calculating accurate costs and timelines for jobs, ensuring competitive and profitability. This role requires a deep understanding of printing, materials and production workflows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitor and log incoming requests for estimates, to help review workload within the department.
· Analyze projects from specifications presented by customer or sales representatives and collaboratively work with sales on resolving discrepancies.
· Determine best fit for each opportunity, by using mix of equipment that will produce the job most efficient and price for the job/project accordingly.
· Ensure jobs are estimated to meet customers’ expectations, advising of any deviations needed while making suggestions for best efficiency.
· Maintaining accurate digital records on all estimates so both company and customer are protected should questions arise.
· Request pricing from outside vendors.
· Develop an understanding of prevailing market prices for print and lettershop.
· Confirm all completed estimates align with prevailing market prices, while maintaining costs for labor, material while meeting SPC’s desired margin goals.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Develop familiarity and aptitude with EFI I-Quote software and SPC’s print and lettershop capabilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· 3-5 years estimating experience with sheetfed, digital, web in-line, print/bindery and letter shop for direct mail, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
· Strong computer skills required: estimating software, word & excel.
· Ability to work independently and work under deadline pressures.
· Effective team building skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all personnel.
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize and service internal customer needs.
· Flexible on working overtime as needed to complete estimated projects.
· Base knowledge of calculating figures and amounts such as discount, percentages, commissions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or GED equivalent required, with 3 to 5 years of estimating experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in a climate controlled office environment.
PHYSICAL requirements
· Must be able to log consecutive hours of viewing computer monitors.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
