What are the responsibilities and job description for the Liquidations Associate position at Specialty Moves By Design?
Are you a team player with great attention to detail? Does searching through piles of “stuff” to find hidden treasures sound exciting? We’re hiring a Part-Time Associate to support our Online Auctions team by sorting household goods into sale-able auction lots, photographing and cataloging lots, assisting buyers on pickup day, and safeguarding client property. In addition, this role supports non-auction cleanout and liquidations projects, which may include boxing up and transporting items to donation or auction houses, or supporting the Liquidations Manager in project management and planning. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, teamwork, reliability, and the physical ability to work in a wide range of property conditions. Liquidations Associates represent Specialty Moves by Design with professionalism, kindness, and respect while ensuring each project is handled with accuracy and integrity. This position reports to the Liquidations Manager.

We're looking for someone who:
- (Preferred) has experience in auctions, downsizing, estate sales, and/or the resale market in general
- Takes client privacy and property extremely seriously and is willing to undergo a background check
- Is team-oriented and willing to jump in and help wherever needed
- Is dependable and punctual, with reliable transportation, and is able to commit to workdays of varying length
- Has experience with basic customer service and is comfortable interacting with clients or buyers
- Is comfortable using a smartphone and willing to learn to use a cataloging app
- Can stand, walk, lift, and navigate stairs/uneven surfaces for long periods (8–10 hours)
- Can lift, carry, or move items of varying sizes with or without team assistance
- Will train to master the auction process as a Liquidations Associate with the goal of becoming a Team Lead and managing project teams independently.

Pay range and schedule: Starting at $18/hr for Associate work, with scheduling flexibility. This role is Part-Time, As Needed, depending on the volume and scheduling of our projects. Auction Pick Up Days are scheduled on weekends, but all other work scheduled M-F between 8-6.
In addition, our company believes in annual profit sharing. Liquidations team members also are eligible for auction commission sharing.

Locations: This is an in-person position, with work happening on-site in clients’ homes. Reliable transportation is a must. We have a large service area between Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton and western Bucks counties, and both travel time and mileage are compensated beyond an established “commute” threshold.
